Finding The Best Elote Vendors In Pilsen
Elote was traditionally served by Mexican street vendors, but it quickly spread around the world. Whether you enjoy your elote in the traditional way off a stick or with the kernels cut up into a bowl, you do not have to look any further than the Chicago neighborhood of Pilsen. This neighborhood is located directly in the center of this large city and is referred to as many as the “heart of Chicago”. A few main streets that run through this area are by far the best locations to find elote and similar delicious fare. On W 18th Street and W Cermack Road you will find many unique street vendors and various restaurants that sell this yummy treat. Many of these restaurants and street vendors have Mexican names to go along with their authentic Mexican cuisine. There is much debate as to exactly which vendor sells the best elote in town, but if you would like to find out then simply walk along these two streets and sample elote from the more than ten street vendors along this route. If you go on a day when there is a farmer’s market then you are in luck because elote is everywhere!
